About Skin Rolling

“Google it, it's great...It’s like a little wheel that has little pins, like acupuncture needles in a way, and you roll it and it stimulates your collagen and it also allows your products to seep into the skin...”

- Jennifer Aniston

Skin Rolling activates the skin to perform its natural biological functions, such as collagen formation, cellular communication, and producing growth factors. The effects of this technique are cumulative, meaning that there will be continuous and noticeable improvement over time – like a workout routine for your skin.

Using skin care formulated with skin-supporting actives is essential for healthy skin. For skin to rejuvenate properly, active ingredients should target the skin conditions you are looking to improve the appearance of.

Personal skin rolling is an at-home cosmetic technique that stimulates the skin at the shallow epidermal level to activate the skin’s biological functions. With microtips of length 0.3 mm or less, home rollers stimulate natural growth of the epidermis, which is the skin’s top layer that is responsible for protection, pigmentation, and regeneration of new skin cells.

Professional Dermal Rolling is a deeper skin rolling treatment, reaching past the epidermis into the dermis to support collagen formation. Dermal Rolling is performed as a clinical treatment, as well as an at-home remedy, that focuses on health and function of the key cells: keratinocyte, melanocyte, Langerhans and fibroblast.

As a technique, dermarolling is performed on a less frequent basis, usually 4 to 12 weeks apart depending on the age and appearance of the skin. Strategically activating the skin 3-6 times per year supports and rebuilds collagen in the skin.

Skin rolling harnesses the body’s own biological response & natural rejuvenation qualities, making it a completely natural treatment. What makes the popular rejuvenation technique a professional process is the use of longer microtips, between 0.5-1.0 mm in length. A 0.5 mm skin roller is the shortest microtip length for activating the natural rejuvenation process, serving as the catalyst that stimulates and prepares the skin.

The main difference between a professional treatment and an at-home personal Skin Roller is the target depth of each respective treatment, and the biological responses that occur as a result of reaching the skin’s different layers.
